Ron Bokinskie – Owner, President

By Hammer & Hand Builders was founded in 1999 by Ron Bokinskie. Ron began his building career early on while growing up in Michigan. As an elective in High School, he enrolled in a building class where the students actually built a house from the ground up over the course of the year. Intrigued by the potential for craftsmanship and artistic value in the construction of a home, Ron knew he had found his calling. Ron began to study architecture and soon moved to Atlanta to study business. While in college, Ron worked full-time as a lead carpenter, warranty technician, and superintendent for SanDall Homes to obtain a full understanding of construction.

After college, Ron took a position with Rider Hunt in Honolulu, Hawaii. Consulting on and project managing many commercial projects such as the Honolulu Airport, he honed his cost, time management and feasibility skills. To be closer to family, Ron moved back to the mainland and worked for large- and medium-scale home builders working up to the position of Vice President of Construction at Brumby Homes. While building these large subdivisions, Ron quickly realized that he wasn’t able to focus on the qualities that called him to the building industry in the first place—craftsmanship and artistic value.

Through By Hammer & Hand Builders, each home Ron builds is a hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind creation. Ron gives each client personalized service and each project the attention to detail it deserves. His design background is evident as he often hand-draws the many interior elements that aren’t worked out by the architect. Because Ron is a hands-on builder, clients receive personalized service, seeing him on each project, often donning a tool belt.
